Privacy Policy
App: Deep Scanner Effective date: May 9, 2026 Last updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Deep Scanner (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the App on your iOS device.
Summary
- We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our own servers.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not create user accounts.
- All scan results are stored locally on your device.
- The App contacts a small number of public network endpoints solely to perform the network checks you request. See Network checks below.
Information the App processes
1. Network configuration (on-device only)
When you start a scan, the App reads information about the network your device is currently connected to, including:
- the type of connection (Wi-Fi, cellular, wired);
- whether a VPN tunnel or proxy interface is active;
- the SSID name when permitted by iOS;
- DNS server configuration;
- TLS / HTTPS reachability of public test endpoints.
This information is used only on your device to compute and display your scan result. It is not sent to us.
2. Network checks (public third-party endpoints)
To determine your public IP, detect DNS leaks, and verify HTTPS reachability, the App makes outbound requests to publicly available network services. These requests are necessary for the core function of the App and are made directly from your device — they do not pass through any infrastructure operated by us.
These public services may, as part of normal internet operation, observe the IP address of the request and standard HTTP metadata. We do not control those services and we receive no information from them. Please consult their own privacy policies if you wish to learn how they handle such data.
3. Local notifications
The App may schedule local re-engagement reminders and a short notification after your network changes (for example, when you connect to a different Wi-Fi network) suggesting that you run a scan. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. No notification content is sent through our servers, and we do not use push notifications.
You may disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Deep Scanner.
4. iOS system permissions
The App requests only the permissions required for its scans:
- Local Network — to inspect the local network configuration;
- Notifications — to deliver the local reminders described above.
You may revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, and the App does not transmit to us, any of the following:
- name, email address, phone number, or other contact details;
- device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV) for advertising or tracking purposes;
- precise or coarse geolocation;
- contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or health data;
- crash logs or diagnostic data delivered to us (Apple may collect aggregated crash and usage data under your iOS privacy settings; we do not receive it).
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly process data from children.
Data retention and deletion
Because all scan data lives only on your device, deleting the App removes all data the App has stored. There is no server-side data for us to delete.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or erase. If you nevertheless wish to contact us about your privacy, see Contact below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
